(Untitled poem currently & unfinished...) - Child

Just a step, one step away,
That tiny space between,
But the roads narrowed
And there's no way
To get that one step further
And claim the day.
To fall into nothing
Or turn back defeated
Which would be the bigger crime?
Perhaps if I go through this space here
I'll one day find a better place or time.
